I bought a six spline from Amazon (noveltools) that works well. It was around $160.00 The six spline are more money than the four spline but work much better. You can get one around $60 but they end up breaking.

This is the one I'm looking at. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Ring-Stretcher-Enlarger-Reducer-Jewelry-Bench-Top-Sizer-Band-Sizing-Repair-Tool/201386482119?epid=1055864088&hash=item2ee391d9c7:g:Gq4AAOSw-3FZJfT-

Really not ready to buy yet, but I'm thinking that a ring stretcher would help a lot.

A ring stretcher makes it a lot easier.
That one will work but may not hold up to a lot of use
I started with the hammer and mandrel. And a Doming block
Than a set of folding dies, than I had to get a set of Swedish
Dies. What got me started was I inherited about 10lb of silver
coins. You will cuss sliver washing quarters. They get called wonkingtons
Because they want to go wonky on you. Franklin half’s can be a pain also.
