Wow! You made all of those? Very impressive. I love the stacked stone lamp. What kind of machinery do you use to make the large hole for the candles and lamps? How did you carve the incredibly intricate cameo and please excuse my ignorance but who is that a cameo of?

Beautiful creative endeavors.  Saving rocks from obscurity and friends from mediocrity. That is a noble use of your time.

Hi guys,
The the holes for tea-light holders I made with a diamond drill bit 45mm, took the middle with a chisel and made the bottom flat and level (used tiny spirit level) with a smaller diamond bit.
The actual size of cameo is about 25cm x 15cm. So it's just a portret of Napoleon Bonaparte carved on slate.

NapolĂ©on Bonaparte was Emperor of the French 1804-1814.
The carving took about 10 days.

Drilling smaller rocks is easy and fast. But drilling the bigger ones like the base for the lamp to put the wire thru the stone, it takes plenty of time. The grey lamp I drilled with a 10mm diamond bit during 3 hours. The red lamps I drilled 2-3 weeks. Very hard stone to drill. The length of a hole for the wire was about 20cm.
