Hi Everyone went out on a collecting trip last week looking for some good petrified wood unfortunately the wood was poor but stumbled on to a area of plant fossils here is a few photos of what I found.

Thanks for your comments this is a sample of what we collected the area I found is  like a band 50 meters wide and 2meters thick half way up a large hill. The fossils are breaking out of the band and shedding down the hill side. Will be going back in a week or 2 to collect some more. Have bought some books on plant fossils so I can try to identify  them.

Amazing quality and unique set of prints.  I am very fond of the more fern looking prints. Is the large pattern in the 1st image a cycad type of plant?  I am not very versed in plant fossils.

Hi Steve this is my first real atempt at collecting plant fossils so still trying to identify  that piece have found something similar  that is actually part of the root system of a larger tree but not sure about this one.

Lovely set of specimens. It looks like the base material is harder than sandstone, maybe a chert? Either way fantastic detail preservation. Nice finds!
