Replacement drum for tumbler?
« on: July 09, 2018, 01:01:37 PM »

Hello,
I was given an old tumbler without a drum. Replacement drums seem to be rather pricey. Can one build a drum cheaper than buying one? If so how?

I haven't tried it but if I were to build one I would start with PVC pipe and threaded end caps.  Threading requires expensive tools so the other option is glue type caps held on and sealed with vinyl tape.  (electrical tape)

Thanks, I have checked the YouTube videos on the topic and no one seemed to have a good answer.
I only have about 20 lbs of stones that could be worth polishing, but I got about a 100 pounds of grit with the tumbler, including about 25 pounds of orange cerium. I would like to put that grit to use...
