Random pebbles
« on: May 08, 2019, 10:32:47 AM »

I'm a magpie - I can't help it - I think 20 years of microscopy has trained me to spot outliers so much that I can't turn it off. We have a lot quartzite pebbles around here in the soil and walking the dog I come across the odd one that stands out. Found this one on Saturday and despite having a few kilos of 'proper' stones to cut I just had to see what was inside this, an hour well spent

Nice little find! Spotting the quartz in the quartzite, and what a sparkly little one.
