I enjoy looking at the Manor in the Opalfields.

Bushy living happens in the nicer homes of the town of Lightning Ridge, too. I was just rereading some old letters in the early 1980s that I had written home from The Ridge. During a mice plague, when I lifted the camp oven lid on the nice electric stove in a lovely house in The Ridge when asked, "What's for supper?". Leaping out of my lovely swedish meatballs was a high jumping mouse glad to be free! And King Brown snakes can be found curled up under the fridge or in the shower. And of course there are always explosions of homebrew bottles on the back porch going off. And don't forget that some of that "mouse control" was handled by the homeowner shooting them with his 22 yes a 22 in the house as the critters would run along the baseboard of the living room! It's amazing the memories that are coming back with the rereading of my letters.

Ohhhh!!! I LIKE that method of mouse control! But here, in my house, they prefer to run along the edge of the stovetop. Or swim in the nice swimming pool that they found in the bowl of water sitting in my sink. sigh... My nice kitty likes to sit and watch them. Not do anything, just watch.

She built a house next to here and this may have been a line shack (dugout) for the old cattle ranches. There's a 4 foot tall rats nest in the corner but they all have 4 legs. I'll have to dig up pics of our other old buildings someday too.
