I have seen common opal boulders up to 7 feet across. Common opal is at times formed in huge pieces. In Washington state I have seen vertical walls of diatomaceous earth pits with solid opal over 30 feet tall and a thousand feet wide.

Could this be hydrogrossular garnet ("transvaal jade")? Cannot show it in photos, but the material just doesn't feel like chalcedony. There's a more waxy feel to it. I'll check the density and come back here.

I posted elsewhere but does anyone have any relatively solid orange slabs available? The orange calcite that I previously tried was more yellow than orange. I havent seen a true orange carnelian. I am looking for slabs to make knife scales so they do not have to be super thick, but that also means being translucent isnt a good quality either.i have orange beryls if you want |

Yep, I have thousands of slabs but am looking for more. I can use those slabs that have nice colors but you just do not see a great cabochon in them. would you like slabs if beryl crystals? |
