I was pulling rocks out of the garden and realized how much I love the look of Parker petrified wood.  Very similar to bocote.  That got me to thinking about my favorite of all woods.  Hard to pick.  I also love Holbrook, blue forest, yellow cat.  But I finally settled on the wood I now find locally.  East Texas palm.  Here is a pic of the two sides of a 1 1/2" thick specimen.  Show us your picks.

Wood is always interesting.

I think the best I ever got was from Daniel (Lonlygems).
Something he calls "Rane" Plume wood.

The palm and plume are both spectacular. My favorite sliced wood piece remains a piece of Bear Creek area (border between Crook and Deschutes counties, Oregon):

I have a lot of petrified wood that has more color.
However this is the only piece of petrified bark that I have found
