We have very similar jasper in Washington and I never post it as pictures absolutely never do it justice.You can enjoy it fully however a big payoff for cutting.

I've never knowingly had any Mary Ellen but that makes sense since the material I have is a dead ringer for your cab.  I have added a pic here of one of the cabs I cut from it.  Does this look like Mary Ellen to you?  It has a bit more of the floaters between the Stromatolites.
