Those are killer Kurt!  Love them!  I like the presentation of the dolphin and Mermaid on the shell.

Sure wish i could afford a large enough piece of opal to tinker with.
Cant believe the prices on opals.

You are quite right about that.
Thats one of the things holding me back even now from getting more. Does not have to be precious opal, I would be happy with just the blue shimmer (as found in the mermaid) and a couple of hotspots (green and yellow on her shoulder and tail). Even though the dragon has nothing of it, its still something nice to look at.

Thank you.
But winning is not really a motivator.
To me its more an opportunity to see how it stands up against other entries from people who do those things for a living rather than as hobby. And should it end up in the top half, I will be happy. Does not need to end up like the jade last year. I still think that last years results overall where not just to many entries.
