Hello Thunderegg lovers - eye candy - pic heavy
« on: July 15, 2022, 11:27:56 AM »

I had been cutting from my buckets months ago and never posted my cuts.  These are all eggs from the Baker mine from several trips I took that the Geode Kid had graciously let me collect on his dumps.  The first time there he allowed my friend and I to sit at the bottom of the dump and the bulldozer each time it moved a load to the dump would roll all the geodes right down to us.  Buckets and buckets of love.  These include some rare colors.  I might have to make 2 post entries to get the pics up.  Just love the color change ones!

Wow. The little red-to-gray one is incredible. Some of the others almost look like Bots.

What's the scale of the foam they're on?

Ill check the size tomorrow.  If you are talking about that 111419a pic after I was looking for which pic you were talking about I saw that and thought the bottom of the 2 halves looks like an exaggerated whale diving with the gray being the body and the red the tail.

That's the one - with the impressionist whale. Top split in 152557 immediately below looks like a tropical fish... .

I measured it today and 1 3/4"  not huge but a lot of the really fun bakers are small.  I did throw another possible egg on the saw today in between plume cuts.

Thanks for the size info. That's perfect size to make big bold pendants.

Great show! Some of those color transitions are just too cool! Even the 'scrambled' ones are gorgeous.

I have some real beauties on my website under the rough section but I haven't updated the bakers in a long while and have many more I should add now.  Another project I don't have time for.  I'll grab a pic from there of one of the style i love

Shit, that's pretty. I can see why you favor this style. It's almost like an abstract DaDa poster or something, with it's bold splashes on a structured/demure plain...

You think maybe Manganese is responsible for both the pink and black staining?
