Core drill
« on: July 06, 2019, 12:04:35 PM »

I picked up this old core drilling machine for $60.00
Cleaned the brushes in the motor, rewired it, built a stand and mounted it.
Now I have to wait for the core drill bit I ordered. I still have to figure out a vice and build a half pipe preforming jig. Than I can have at my pile of oynx (banded calcite)

Yes it has water, you can see the short hose. It feed down the inside of the core bit.
It had a 2” bit on it I took it off to make sure I got the right core drill bit.
It runs great. Just have to wait for my 4 1/2” bit.

Very interested to hear of your experiences with this.  I have had my eye on this approach, and am curious as to the solutions that you discover along the way.  I understand from others that the vise has been a challenge, Carpe diem!
