Of all the material you cut beads from, I think the grossular garnet ones are my favorite.  The spring green color is so crisp and clean.  I really love it!

The grossular garnet is fantastic.  Since I'm new to this hobby, I'm curious to see if the grossular garnet occurs in more than the thin banding that I've collected so far on my beach cobble safaris.  Have you ever found it in heavy concentrations?  BTW,  I really appreciate your posts and demonstrated depth of knowledge.

Thanks, that info so appreciated.  Guess I'll commit to a bit of studing on epidote.

lithicbeads, can you tell from this image whether this piece is grossular?  I assume it is but the green in your lovely beads is much more vibrant.  The material is about 6 in hardness and leaves a milky residue when I'm grinding it.  It's from Washington.

It looks to be a nice grossular with a touch of idocrase and  the chrome diopside blebs are the bright green.
