If you put those wings directly behind the hackle you have a fair representation of a classic, the Spruce fly.

Don't know if a fish'll bite a bug with it's wings coming out of it's butt, and I think it'll float with the hook in the wrong position, but the most important question is: will it or has it caught fish? Other than that, nice job! <G><

I think it looks great. Considering all the idiotic concoctions lure companies put out on the shelves. I am waiting for a field test. Ya never know?

Well you have to start somewhere, you have to start somewhere, right?  It looks like a bug to me.  :)

It totally looks like a bug.  Funny thing, last night I watched an episode of "How It's Made" and fly ties was one of the topics covered.  Coinky dink???  Perhaps...  :D

If I were a fish I would try to eat that.

Shoot, you'll probably catch so many fish on it that all the fishermen will be copying your design when they tie flies.  They'll call it the "donfly"!

2 things I have realized here:

1- It looks like I smoked crack before posting my first comment and I didn't even remember seeing the fly before when I made my second comment.    :Bash:

2- The original post was in December, 2014.    :Bash:   :Bash:   :Bash:

So did you catch a fish with it????
