Last trip I took to Vancouver I stopped by the Coquihalla River; the one the "Highway through Hell" was named after, and picked up a few cobbles; they can be easily identified by the whitey/green oxidized outer rind, and the material looks very similar; about mohs 4

so, are these polished on really really worn expandos or are they polished with something else?

These often have an oxidized rind and they are fairly hard. We have some 2 hardness serps but we also have a bunch of 5 hardness serps .They are fairly common here but rare overall. these polish very easily when they are a bit harder like this one. the softer ones polish well with zam and/or fabuluster. This one was hit up with both for the heck of it.

Yes, there is a variance in the hardness in the Coq. material too 4-5 probably with the purer serp. being harder and the ones with the flashing flakes in it being softer. The Coq. has nephrite in it too in thin veins if you can find it.
