I love the tube agate from Idaho but never knew the areas it comes from.  The bottom piece to me is the classic material I like.  The top piece reminds me of material from Nipomo where it had a marcasite core on the tubes that eroded out.  Is the top piece solid or does it have voids in the tube formations?   Love the pics, awesome material.

The upper large piece has the tiny voids as described. Will keep for display.

The lower piece is mostly solid.   Assume will work like any solid agate.  Plan to make a couple cabs out of it.

With that nice of a pattern it make make some outstanding cabs, can't wait to see them.  It's a pitty that some material is formed so close to perfection and then stopped.  I found a plume near my house and it has huge angel wings however the white of the plume wasn't well silicated and therefore it is almost like an opal powder in the plume cavities.  The main seam of the material was well silicated and it looks like only the top plume in the wings is dry.  I have wondered about using a sealer in the wings before cutting since the material is so amazing.  Otherwise like yours it just makes great specimens.  I pulled out one piece that is probably 40 lbs. and looks like an alligator head with it's jaws open.
