Need help identifying this
« on: May 17, 2017, 07:12:49 PM »

This was in my parents collection and I have no idea what it is.
It doesn't seem quite as hard as some of the other agates I've cut and it tends to have pits close to the outsides.
I'll try to post a picture of what it looks like in its rough form in a little bit.

Can't tell a lot from your picture, but looks like a coral stem.

Here is a picture of what it looks like in rough form.
I have several pieces and they all appear to be formed in a "layer" (but guessing here).

Looks like pink plume from Nyssa Oregon. Is the green edge sorta crumble like with pits and grooves???

Neal/55fossil should be able to tell us for sure.

Hi Orrum,

Yes, the green rind is pitted and crumbly.
