Eastern Washington opal

This is opal that lithicbeads had collected many years ago in eastern washington. I've been cutting more opal lately and I've still got a love/hate for the stuff. This particular material has alot of voids but I found it to be quite manageable and the end result isn't hindered by them in my opinion. I enjoy the purple tones and the brecciation areas are quite incredible. Hope you enjoy. Happy cutting folks!

 Nice cut ! I love this stuff , so complex, almost alive.The deposit is long buried by many feet of dirt and an apple orchard but it was a wild 25 foot headwall of every colored opal.

Wow !! Thats a home run piece for sure, Friggen beautiful.  Gergis your work is so consistently inspiring....I'm thinking Frank has been a big inspiration for you ...

I found one small white spot area that seemed super soft and undercut. I assume an area of diotomasus earth not fully silicified most likely.

Indeed. I remember seeing franks work in another forum a few years back and thinking "my gosh I wanna be able todo that type of quality work!" I pay very close attention and take in every bit I can! ;-)
