« on: March 16, 2018, 10:00:34 PM »

I thought I would share a couple of photos of a nice 6kg piece of Queensland Rainforrest jasper I purchased when at the mine site on Thursday. Should keep me in cabs for a while.

Yeah, that's still one of my favorite types. Rainforest was the first rough I ever bought other than opal.

Another photo of the back even more agate inclusions I have been driving past the mine for many years without stoping for a look I guess the old saying is true a bit older a bit wiser. I think a piece of this would look pretty good as a guitar pick Steve I will try to get a couple of thin slices  over to you in a few weeks if you would like to give them a try

It's a gorgeous material, love the color and tiny agate inclusions. Looks a little like the orbed rhyolite with tiny t-egg nucleus.

Australian Rainforest Jasper is in my top 10 all time list.  It is like you get dozens of mini-geodes in each slab.  Enjoy, it is fun to work with.
