Title: Lightning Ridge Int opal awards
Post by: auscarver on August 01, 2017, 02:44:05 AM
Hi, its Margie, auscarvers other half, Michael placed 1st in the carving pro figurative section in the Lightning Ridge int opal awards last weekend with his little shell he posted in the outrageous cab contest, gives us more incentive to keep interest in lapidary.

Wonderful piece and great news.  Congratulations. I've been playing with opal and this inspires me further.

Congrats, Michael!  I knew that carving had enough detail in it.   :DRUNKS:

Thanks for the great support, a friend that returned on Monday rang and told me, in 2013 they rang me and asked if I wanted to attend the awards, could not tell me what I had placed but would be worth my while, no phone call or email this time, would have very much liked to attend but the result is great despite this, sharing my carvings here and seeing what other members here make is very enjoyable.

SEW gorgeous! I love to see what others create! Would like to try my hand at it, BUT I have my hand in way too many cookie jars already.
