McDermit Stripey Jhon
« on: August 19, 2017, 08:41:24 AM »

Here's a 3 1/2" sphere from  McDermit. I'm calling it Stripey Jhon agate as we were driving up to Small Hill and Jhon pulled over and we collected this nice agate it's not on any of my maps. It has some empty pockets in it and has fractures that are healed. I have another cutting now it looks a bit more solid.
I'm sure someone on the forum will know what it's really called but I'm going with Stripey Jhon for now.lol

Never seen anything that looks like that.  I think Stripey Jhon is an awesome name for it!

It turned out pretty cool. You may be wishing that you picked up
More of it. I did one small sphere. I guess I should cut anouther one. Not a lot of color but it has interesting patterns

Hope you didn't mind the name I gave it! If you recall we swung by again and picked a couple more pieces. So I'll probably get 6-7  4" spheres. It's really nice looking, you'd have to hold it and look close. I have another going with a green band it. We'll see
