Unknown material - metallic cabs - please help
« on: May 02, 2018, 04:02:21 PM »

My wife obtained two cabs of this material.  I repolished one and set as a pendant and cut the other into two, recut/polished and set for matching earrings.  The material was quite soft, made a lot of black water as I was cutting it and kind of stained my Nova wheels (and hands) temporarily black.  Anyhow, the finished pieces as you see have a bluish appearance and polished up quite well on cerium oxide/leather.  She paid pretty good money for these, I'm trying to remember if she said they were some type of silver containing ore?  Any ideas on name/origin?  We picked them up at a gem show somewhere or the other.
