I do love your work.
The very gradual color gradation on that piece is stunning.

That gradation is very typical of "Moss in Snow" variety of Jadeite. Most of the boulder I cut this from is pure white  with lavender spots when viewed in daylight.

The only mention of seen of Jadeite in Wa. was on a State Pub. mentioning a small amount of Jadeite was found on Whidbey.  I'm curious to learn if that is where you picked this piece up.  Beautiful, as is all your work.

Jadeite has been found by geologists high in western Washington mountains but people do not believe the geologists.Omphacite jadeite has been found as well as standard jadeite both insitu. People hate it when I tell them where they have to go to find it. Structural geologists here were studly and competent mountaineers. People today bandy about the word prospecting having absolutely no idea of what real prospecting takes in terms of fitness . commitment and cash to pay for vehicles to go back into places that do not tolerate breakdowns. I have about 10 more pounds of top grade jadeite from here and need to cut it more often.
