The Turitella really emphasize the 3 D aspect of a sphere.  I know spheres are neat but this one is mega-neat at least through the eyes of a lover of natures idea of symmetry and contours.

Agreed.  Turitella spheres really show off the fossil shells extremely well and you get a great view of them all.  Those 2 are sweet!

Great work on these!  I'll need to add this to the list of future spheres.  I really the combination of the fossil and sphere; as others adeptly state it provides for the perfect medium in 3D.

Well I started on my preform, likely will come in shy of 3".  I am impressed you got a 4" sphere out of your stock.  While I always have hope, I don't think my rough will compare to the sweet pieces you had worked with.

I love turritella but it's so harhard to get a decent slab out of the rough. That is a excellant sphere!!!
