Packlithic laughs at the oldsters.
« on: May 17, 2015, 08:25:44 PM »

She has shared our hobby of climbing since she was barely of elementary school age. I built this wall because I wanted to have the kids learn to climb by doing it very frequently. My son who is quite a bit older than pl was a good climber and very bold but his career choice as a soldier has forced him to give up on it until he retires. I homeschooled pl until high school so we often did our schooling on the road and made several long trips to visit and climb places I was familiar with. It was a very important technique that we used to make her much stronger for her chosen athletic event the hammer throw in which she excelled at the national level in high school and college. We pumped weights and ran primarily but the climbing builds great core strength and confidence. A hobby that has been an important part of all our lives.
