Back in the Saddle
« on: October 23, 2021, 11:57:44 PM »

So I am back to beading after about four years of not doing it.  I had been burnt out doing contest pieces and then I started working full time as well.
At my Husband's urging I started to live stream.
I did my first stream tonight.  Each session I am going over how to do certain aspects of a project.
Tonight I went over how to do a basic peyote stitch bezel around a cabochon.
Next session I will show people how to do a peyote bezel around sharp corners.

Stone:  Pyritized Ammonite
Beads:  Assorted Czech and Japanese seed beads

Just mind boggling how intricate your art is.  Always a joy to see.  I think of how simple my cabs are compared to all of the detail you incorporate into your pieces.

Wow. That is the cleanest, tightest, and most precise work I've ever seen. The composition and transition between the two shapes is also very pleasing. Even the "disorderly" bits around the lower part look consistent all the way around.

Nothing "sticks out" to me in any way that would detract from the artistry of the piece as a whole. Most work of this type that I've seen seems to have one element or another - or just areas of "loose" or imprecise construction - that interfere with the overall appearance.

Thank you!
I will be streaming again this Saturday if I am recovered enough from my foot surgery to handle it.
Twitch is FREE, so please do come over and watch the stream!  You can see how I do this!

Heh - okay, now I understand what I called the "disorderly bits" around the lower part in the previous photo.

I thought the previous photo looked good enough to be a finished piece. Now nothing looks "disorderly"... .
