Agate?

Found this along the shore of the Puget Sound. Does anyone know what kind of agate this is? Tube agate? Is it an agate? A quartz of sorts? There is quartz throughout and some druzy in spots. I'm new and need a little help. Any and all is appreciated :cool:

If the second photo is the reverse of the first,  its twice as confusing for me.  Does it react to acid? For some reason I'm suspecting that its got a bunch of carbonates in it. Agate will not react to acid.  It somewhat appears to be biological (i.e. marine sediments or fossil in origin and then welded together.  In short, I can't help you other than to get you to probe it further.  The holes in it certainly resemble the holes drilled in shells by other critters.

It looks like you have a piece of messy tube agate. Out by Squim you can find small agatized snails on the beach if you are patient enough and there have been lots of agatized clams found around Raymond in streams.We tend to get more jaspers than agates on Salish sea beaches  as the agate hunters have pounded the beaches for over half a century.Your piece probably came from the extensive agate deposits in interior BC.

It has been completely submerged in citric acid (reluctantly...and crossing my fingers, haha) with NO reaction whatsoever. This truly surprised me in that I was thinking this was a marine fossil of sorts. The pictures are the same specimen but, the second pic is of the opposing side of the other half. Had a better picture of that side. This was found near Poulsbo, WA

I've found exactly identical pieces on Vashon beaches and hypothesized it was brecciated agate that got smashed and glued back together.  I would, however, not put much trust in my  thoughts.....

Rustycat, I think you may just be correct! I researched brecciated agate and found images that are so very similar. Nothing else has even come close. Thanks!!!
