This cab is my latest submission to Rock and Gem magazine for my monthly "Bench Tips" column. It is made from a slab from a Brazilian Agate nodule. I was slabbing the nodule to get some slabs of Milky Chalcedony for my carving projects. Unexpectedly, I came across two slabs that had this dendritic druzy pattern. All the rest slabs were without any pattern. It is 3" tall. In addition to showing the pattern in the cab I wanted to add an accent cab to demonstrate and explain how to recess a small cab into the larger piece. The small cab is chrysocolla.

I bought a slab of India agate one time just to get the dendrite
Cut one cab the rest went into the trash

Question : Is the chrysocolla a cabochon or is flush
hard to tell
either way outstanding!!!!
Ive done similar with cabs by carving out just enough for tight fit
