Title: Flaw repair
Post by: Joe Gussenhoven on October 25, 2017, 07:51:15 PM
I'm new to making cabs. Thought this one would turn out perfect. Is there a way to hide the flaw? Super glue? What do I do?  TIA for help.

Yes, you can fill it with superglue or a 2 part epoxy (Epoxy 330 is good).  Let it cure for 24 hours or so.  I prefer Epoxy 330 because water tends to break superglue down.  Resand and polish your cab to make the repair blend in.

Don't forget to disclosure the treatment if you sell the cab.   :icon_sunny:

I'll give it a try.  I'm finding making the cabs is easier than picking good material without a flaw.

No intent to sell. Hoping to make jewelry one of these days. Just for fun.

I Work the epoxy in with a tooth pick. And make sure the stone is dry and clean it can help to warm the stone a little.
