I had the pleasure of meeting Helene today up at my farm. It was a lovely going away visit with all members of the Lithic family.
Helene got her feet wet searching for poppy jasper. Frank is so broken up about my leaving that he threw himself at me, in an attempt at crushing me so I couldn't finish the house.
Thanks guys!

Yup Josh caught me and probably saved my life so all the dumb things I did and do from that point on are Josh's fault. Hear that Helene?

Helene once again has damp feet - can't keep this girl out of the water. It was a great visit. We miss Josh already

Lots of smiles and giggles waiting for the ferry ride home

Sweet looking brindle dog, must be a Plott Hound, I got a couple of them too. A good time had by one and alll!

That is Bear. He's a 97 pound pit-lab mix. A couch potato!

Soooo, did Josh save your life before or after you doused my shoes with water? In friendly conversation I mentiond my pleasure at not having to get my shoes wet in frigid water hunting rocks. Frank fixed that pronto, he's got a quirky sense of humor. Alternately I envey and have pity on his wife and daughter. No mater what this family is close, loving and know how to give and live.
I fly home tonight on the red eye. Solidifying friendships with Frank and Family, meeting new friends on the forum, Kristee, Josh and Randy more than special. Thank you for taking time to meet and visit with me. Josh let us roam his rock pile and can't wait to cut some. One thing I noticed everyone from the forum wore a pendent that they made. All making a special statement of beauty and passion. Each more dynamic worn than a picture posted on the forum. Experiencing the unique feeling of finding your own rough to work with was an eye opener to understanding my connection to rock cutters from now to the first person centuries ago making beads out of shells.
ive never packed so many events in two weeks, from bird watching with packalithic, four hour exercise sessions with Frank, to rock hunting with Lithicstrings. That's hitting the surface. One thing I've learned is that Frank does not exaggerate about his experiences an exiting place and life.

Our Pit/Lab is named Wally but we call him a Plott Hound(a real breed), it seems insurance companies don't like any dog that has the least bit of Pit ancestry in it but Plott Hounds are good old boys.
Sad to say every great vacation must end but the benefits of go on long after the trip is over with increased creativity and productivity. Speaking for myself but after I come home from the Iron Pour I'm so charged up that my creativity overflows for a good 6 to 7 months and then starts to wane. Good vacations are hard to beat.

It was a great family visit - so warming to realize that forum friends are really family - great to have the opportunity to introduce Helene to the Washington contingent, and keep her feet wet the entire time!
She shares our sense of humor, adventure, and fun. A good time was had by all!

Once again I will tell you all how jealous I am that you are able to share your adventures together. I don't mind my solo wanderings, but you guys always look like you have so much fun together.
