There was not supposed to be any jade in this stream but packlithic and I found about 50 pieces and I did expect good jasper but not this good.
-
If that was a ruined trip, then dang I'd hate to see what a good trip was!
Seriously awesome looking Jasper there! :occasion14:
At least your stream was infested with Jade and Jasper. I could think of far worse things like sapphires, agates, garnets and gold...

Wow nice material

Ooooooo the colors in that are lovely!!!

Note the obligatory rock hammer for scale has been replaced with a crutch, maybe it will start a new fad among aging rockhounds.

Yeah and instead of spraying the rock with water we can just drool on it and ask each other , " What did we used to call this stuff? I can't quite remember. " Lots to look forward to in the future.

Sounds like you day was better than my Friday, all of Chino Valley is infested with Pig Weed and grasshoppers. I did see about twenty Pronghorn Antelope which was nice to see, the area was very green from monsoon rains. However I found no rocks of interest except for a house built half of a purplish/brownish sandstone conglomerate, that was interesting.
