Very nice, Tiger eye is one of my very favorites.
:headbang:

Love them, the tiger eye especially! Although I do hate cutting that stuff. :toothy10:

Nice! You are doing your new Genie huge justice!

third piece today..i originally did a couple preforms of a serpentine i found a couple months back at franks place and the first pendant i tried making was heavily fractured and it cracked mid job so i knew this piece would blow up too so i dropped it on the concrete and kept the top that still had the drill hole to salvage that piece onto something...and here ya go..still needs sone work but will make a few more for a necklace or something nice :-)

also thanks for the compliments guys! :occasion14:

Nice save!

Opals break if you drop them on bricks as well. Beware... :sad5:
-
Or Concrete. Ask me how I know ... :confused5:

Ha! I knew we had lots in common! :icon_jokercolor:

Tile floors will also make a multi-stone "set" of an opal. Very quick process. Far from painless.

yeah i swear the first opal cab i made was really a mexican jumping bean cause i just could NOT keep in in my hands when i would take it outside to look in natural light to look for flaws..must of dropped it twenty times i swear..only one chip but i def learned my lesson!!

Nice stones; the serpentine with the hole in the middle will be a nice focal bead; I'd much rather they break before I start shaping than after an hours work... there is a sound that solid stones have that a fractured one doesn't.
