The lady that I took a carving class from had these in her display case
-
Very nice! Your instructor does some find multi-stone carvings! :icon_sunny:

Interesting. Do you know by any chance if the individual parts are epoxied or pinned together?
-
Glued. Some parts are carved or partly carved than glued and some thing are glued than carved
She just gave me a basic rundown on how she dose it. There were other carvings but were to hard to photograph
-
This is the carving I did for the lesson.
She gave me an A+

Man that is a sweet eagle! Is it made out of mookaite?

Wow Jhon, that is beautiful! Was that your first carving? You've got a talent, that's for sure.
-
Sweet! Why do make spheres when you can carve like that!
-
That layout worked wonderful. Great idea.

The stone is munjini jasper. I think it comes from the same area but it is a softer stone.
I do what I am in The mood to do. It changes from day to day, some days I just want to grind out cabs. I call it stupid work because I have done so much that I don't have to think about it and spheres fall into the stupid work
I have been working so much lately that if I am tired I don't have good control for carving or jewelry.

You certainly deserve a A+!
very nice!
