Its been a while since anything of note came to mind.
School is finished, and looking forward to a near 3 month off (only part time during those months).
Time for long walks with the dogs, and messing around with stones.
So working on some Fire Agates, and hopefully get this one cleaned up soon.

Need to do an arrowhead for a friend in Tiger Iron

And its time to do a snake again. The coral looks perfect for that.

Slowly coming together, using a simple 2 inch cutting-blade.

And

Still needs small adjustments, plus polish, but that's where its now.

Tiger iron needs to be drilled

Snake already worn these past few days as is.

Started a new snake last week, after a rather huge response to the first one, including from a friend who asked for something last year, but never came up with a design she wanted. Now I slowly fell in love with the second one too, and don't want to give either of them away. :) :)

So, looks like, I gotta make a third too, and then let her choose from this one or the third. First one is simple, but I like it better despite of improved design in the second.

Number 3 is underway. This time there are a few soft spots to work around, and/or to include in overall design.
This time also, back and front lines up.
Back and front of number 3

And started another Brazilian for "Fire & Ice" Challenge on FB

As usual, stuck on the face, yet again.
Thanks for looking, Kurt

The snake presentation seems quite fresh to me and that is not easy to accomplish with sculpture. In Canada snake nests are rare in spots as the geology is not varied at times. There is one spots where the snakes come from dozens of miles away to nest with thousands of other snakes under ground to escape the Canadian winter.

Yeah, have saved the episode of "Wild Canada" that shows that unique event, and will show it next month to students in China during Summer-camp.

I came across a rattlesnake (Crotalus oreganus) hibernacula that had over 100 snakes in it. Even though it was a very cold day, I was not about to go in and count them. :glasses9:

Kurt, your little snakes look great, very good size, usable jewelry not just a mantle piece carving that gathers dust, and your tiger iron arrow head is eye catching, Australia has the no 1 & 2 on the most venomous list, the eastern brown is very common in my region.

A nest of snakes is the worst of nightmares.
Australia has its share, where I grew up we had the Red Back, scary but unless you trod on it not so bad, but poisonous.
Brown snake, highly poisonous and aggressive.
Death adder, small nondescript, like a fat twig and highly dangerous.
In groups such as this we don't want snakes in the grass but I must admit yours don't have that aggressive halo. :hello:

Groups of snakes, never seen them, but I keep a healthy distance from them wherever possible. We got some very aggressive ones around here that I belief to be vipers. The big ones, like Chinese Cobras, might on average be in the 6-9 foot range, but they usually take off before one can see them. I usually see their tail end slipping off the path somewhere.

Thats what I'm trying to do. Wearable, not display. I find it odd that things should be only accessible to a few people, when one can make things to be worn openly.

All polished up.

And one more preform for a future Fire & Ice carving possibility
