Another wire wrap done for the Cedarburg show. This is a 45 carat Strawberry Quartz from Mexico. This material is one of the rarest of the rare. Only one pocket of the material was obtained in the 70s and very little of the material was cut into stone. I was asked years ago to cut a damaged crystal for a dealer and got 2 stones of the 7 for payment. It is estimated that less than 50 kilos were found.
The color and sparkle is from included hematite needles oriented parallel to the crystal faces.
Wire is 24 guage square sterling and 22 guage sterling 1/2 round

Beautiful. And the simplicity of the wrap only enhances the stone. Great work
