Finally spent some time at the machines this weekend. Had a new trim saw blade and some new materials to play with. Besides the cab I entered in the contest here are 7 others I finished this weekend.
Got this from a local old-timer who collected it. He called it "flaming agate" and said it came from Hackberry Wash in California. No idea where that would be.

A Gary Green that gave me a pleasant surprise as it dropped off the saw.

Enstatite
This came in a box from Frank (along with the harlequin and some others). Kinda tricky to cut. It wanted to undercut and it didn't want to polish in spots. But it is really fantastic stuff! I also added a video so you can see the play of light on it.

Thank you foe posting those pictures with the names. After asking several people I now have the name of one stone that I had no name for. The Enstatite. 2 years ago I was given several slabs as the seller stated he would not be able to sell them. I have made a few pieces with it and do find it lovely to work even if at times difficult to polish.

Beautiful cabs, great material! The gary green and the enstatite are stunning.

I think they were referring to Hackberry Springs which some called Hackberry Wash. It is located North of Goffs, CA. and is now located in the Mojave National Preserve - saving those stones for future generations . It was known for petrified wood and a host of other cuttable materials.

Now that you have gave away all your extra material, (by the way Thanks one more time!) you are really back to work.
