Title: Dogs
Post by: Jhon P on August 05, 2016, 04:51:13 PM
I sat down at the jewlery bench to contemplate what I wanted to do with a rhodochrosite cab. One if my dogs are alway close to me. Was thinking about the joy and pleasure that they give me. I have three French Brittany hunting dogs they are the best companions and provide me with many hours of injoy meant in the field hunting upland game birds and being my best friends!
This is my 5 yo female Star she has had two litters and is a great mother and hunter.

That's not what I am used to calling a Brittain Spaniel. Am I confused? She looks short haired.

Wait a minute Jhon I zoomed in and saw the wavy hair. My cell phone is hard to see details on! LOL

She is a French Brittany. She does have shorter hair than most American Brittanies. They are a little calmer and a little smaller than the American Brittany and black is an acceptable color

Dogs are awesome.  I have two multi-mixed breed dogs, love them to bits.  Molly the oldest at 15 months is my protector.  Lavena at almost 5 months old is my little adorable fart goblin who makes me laugh.

We know who the sofa belongs too. At least you have room to set between them so they both can be loved on :icon_sunny: I like all dogs those two look like winners.

Here's a pic my wife took of the pack setting with me. The silky terrer is my wife's

My Flat-coated retriever/water spaniel mix has been even a better friend after my stroke a few weeks ago. I am partially blind on the left side and am not allowed to drive. Both of us love trips to the dog park.We play in the backyard during the morning hours. He's calm inside when I am designing jewelry. I made a pair of silver and stone earrings a few minutes ago.

Then there's my best buddy Jake. We're both about 10 years older now than when this pic was taken. Can't imagine life without my little buddy. We're both slowing down. Jake can't jump as high as a younger Jack Russel can anymore. He sometimes has trouble jumping up in my recliner to take his place at my left hip where he squeezes in to sleep.

If Jake goes before I do, plans have been made for him to be cremated. His ashes in a container will be placed by my left hip when they put me in my box. My left hand on his container as if I'm still scratching his ears, and we will go under the ground together.

Best & most loyal dog I've ever had, (and I've had many).

I have always had a hobby in rocks and my wife had nothing.  She was miserable and then we adopted a pound pup "Missy" who loved to jump off the sofa about 4 feet into your arms and then the Agility hobby was born for my wife.  I then bought her Nikki from a breeder for Christmas one year and Mocha for her Birthday another.  They are all award winners in agility with Nikki being the best.  The pic of Nikki on the desk is normal at least for us.  9pm every nite it is time for their treats so they sit and stare at us then Nikki starts dropping a ball at our feet then she attempts to climb in my lap and makes the transition to the desk and we have to move the keyboards for her.  She walks back and forth till she gets the word that they can have the treat.  Missy is a mutt (called all American) and the others are Miniature American Shepards.

Lots of people love cats and other critters, but I could not imagine a more loyal creature than dogs.
Friends for life, good for heart and soul!

Best decision ever, to have dogs around kids. I was lucky to have had dogs around since I was a kid, and made sure that my youngsters had the same benefit despide of the crowded conditions around here. They/we evolve very different, guided in part through the unconditional love dogs give them/us.

(mildly rebellions, I have cats)

But our house does have a dog, a year old Kelpie mix named Bella who was an impulse-acquisition from a local shelter on the part of a housemate. My only photo of her is of her post-trashcan-destruction but we're working on that. She does hike with me sometimes and is pretty good, though strong prey drive means I live in terror of her getting away from me to go after a deer/porcupine/rattle snake/toad etc. she does not feel pain and has no survival instinct.
