The Contin-Tail gem and mineral show is August 11 to 14 in Buena Vista Colorado at the rodeo grounds just south of town. Several hundred dealers in a tail gate format type show with the backdrop of the Collegiate Peak Range. The Collegiate Peaks are a range of mountains with many 14,000 peaks including Mount Antero as shown on the Prospector's Show on the Weather Channel.

Always wondered about the show name. Makes sense now that you mentioned tail gate format. We'll have to put that one our list that we hope to get to someday. That location must be beautiful.

The first year it was held, it was located on the Continental Divide as well but they soon found a better and larger location close to the Divide. There are usually several hundred dealers and miners from all over the SW and Mexico selling their wares. It can take an entire day to walk around the site looking at all the goodies.
