I wish I could get a better picture. This stone is more marcasite than agate, it looks like chrome.

I think I know where our next club trip will be. There's a lot of nice stuff around Nipomo.
-
I would like to make a trip over there some day but would need a guide. No idea were to look and there is a lot of private property that you need permission to hunt. I hear that the locals get permission to hunt fields after the farmers plows?
I had a hard time trying to get a good picture, the rock is like a mirror and was reflecting everything. And if still didn't do the stone justice.

I was planning on contacting the San Luis Obispo Gem and Mineral Club first. They should be able to tell us how to get permission or tell us about sites that are open to the public.
That piece does look hard to photograph. It's like taking a picture of a mirror.

That's right you can see stuff in that stone that is just reflections
-
That's weird looking.
-
Is there a way to post a short video? Than you can get a better idea of what it really looks like.

I've cut a couple of Nipomo stones very similar to that and they're really hard to photograph. You might try a softer, more diffused light source instead of direct sunlight. It's hard to get rid of all the reflections -- but t least it won't be green since you figured out your camera problem :toothy10:
