Here is a small group from the latest batch of cabs I cut. It is a mix of materials. I hope you like them. When I was sizing them I saw especially in the botswanas and Queensland that my arm is reflecting in the stones. I need to shoot remotely or get some black gloves of something. I hate when they look like flaws and it's just my arm. I put in one last pic from a box of about 100 + garnets a friend gave me years ago saying they were supposed to be stars. I got some advice from Gemfeller and cut my first just to see how it would turn out.

Maybe if you didn't make them so shiny you wouldn't have a problem with reflections. :toothy12:
Fantastic work. :Worthy:

You might be on to something! I had thought about using a sand blaster to texture parts of cabs sort of like Black on Black pottery, this would solve everything. It happens more on rounded shapes of course so tapered stones don't get hit so bad.
After thinking about this my jade never has this problem... hmmm think I better re read Hoover's advice of wet to dry!
