Title: Any Good Hounding Between Vegas and Bakersfield?

We are going on a trip to California on the next little bit to get out of the Northern Utah snow.  I was wondering if anybody knows of any treasure that we could go find between Vegas and Bakersfield?  We also plan to hound the central California area and are up for suggestions there.

That link will lead you to a bunch of spots around the Barstow/Victorville/Lancaster area. You will pass right by some of these sites on your drive from Vegas to Bakersfield.
