One of my coworkers has a drone and took it out to play in a local palisades rock formation.

(For the record I told him about the giant natural arch!)
We're hoping to get back out there tomorrow, now that the roads are somewhat dry.
(also feel free to ignore the support pitch at the end, forgot about that.)

Beautiful! Love the editing too!

Thats pretty awesome. Lightweight video cameras (GoPros) and drones have really changed the face of amateur video production.

Yeah he works pretty hard at it. It's a side hobby of his (the rest of his channel is more local ranching/firefighting stuff) that he and his brother and friends make for the fun of it.
We made it up into the palisades and saw some cool stuff. There's huge sections of petrified tree trunk up there. Must have been the trees big enough to withstand the mud and ash flows. It's all on interior BLM (no public access.) Any time you see a bill trying to consolidate BLM into public access chunks, support it- it solves problems like this, where only a few people have access to some truly stunning public land because of corner-hopping laws. Our bosses have been trying for years to get all the interior BLM consolidated onto edges so people can access it. There's hardly any public access wildspace in our county but people keep fussing about road surveys and winter access (there isn't any and that's no one's fault, it's just how the roads are) and blocking attempts to consolidate.
