Title: Slab city(in progress!)
Post by: Gergis on April 25, 2017, 10:34:22 AM: Heyo! I'm back!! After a long(great!) winter playing in the snow I'm back out into civilization(pretty sure we still have one of those) and have been keeping busy this spring on the lithic farmstead helping them and Goodearth(Josh) out by building a couple tool sheds to play in this summer. The one dubbed "Slab City" "Slabulon 6" ect ect.. will be the saw shed housing a couple slab saws and a tile "trim" saw. The other will eventually be a dry sanding shed(don't worry I'll find a funny fitting name for it too!) that I'll go into more detail as we progress and near completion on it.

Post by: lithicbeads on April 27, 2017, 08:39:36 AM: The door is tall enough to use the tractor to put rocks in the 24 inch saw. My sheds are sized for a purpose which in this case is not storage with a footprint that fits in the permit free size.

Four sided sheds around here invite to many bees to take up residence. Last thing I need is to open a shed door and get swarmed...**shudders**

What did you end up doing for the floor, I couldn't tell if it was compacted sand or concrete in the last pics. I was thinking about the saws and weight and if they need to be moved during cleaning etc...

Permit free .. I like that. My plan is to build about four of the free size, side by side with a sliding wall between them. Fingers crossed.

Post by: irockhound on May 02, 2017, 08:52:44 AM: Not sure how much permit things change in different areas. Make sure they don't ding you for building proximity, some areas they require 10' between structures for fire codes.
