Title: Bird attacking window
Post by: Grayco on May 01, 2017, 05:42:40 AM
Spring is here and a big Robin is twitterpated. He keeps attacking three windows in the front of my house.  It appears He's attacking his reflection. What a stubborn bird that reflection is too.  He's always there to meet a challenge.

This misguided bird is going in a contest against his reflection.  He slams into the windows over and over and over.  The constant thumping get old. He's making quite a mess on my windows too

I did notice he did not attack the windows with screens.  I bought a 2' x 74" roll of window screen material and I thumbtacked it across the outside of the offending windows.

VICTORY to the defending Robin! He successfully drove away his competitor and has stopped attacking my windows. :angel9:

Goofy bird was going to kill himself.  The screen trick works in case you too are fighting a goofy bird. :WEEEE:

If he comes back put a picture of an owl or hawk in your window.  They are fighting like crazy for territory now.

He's still around. He has claimed my front yard.  He just stopped fighting his reflection.  We did put some stuff in the windows but my wife prefers the almost invisible screen.

I have a mockingbird that has taken up residency in my neighborhood this spring.  He must be the happiest bird on the planet because he sings constantly.  I leave for and come home from work at all kinds of odd hours and it seems like no matter when I step out he is there happily singing away.  I go out at midnight, hes on the lightpole singing.  I go out at dawn, hes in the tree singing.  I step out at noon, hes on the house singing.  I love the mockingbirds song and I often stop and start "talking" to him in my own poor attempt at mockingbirdese.  He seems to enjoy it, and I know I do.

For anyone who has never heard a mockingbird here is a good clip.  They are a real joy to listen to.
