So as most of you know I had a hysterectomy back in March. I have recovered well and am doing great.
This post however is for my sister. While her and I don't get along, I do still love her as my sister and I don't like to see her suffer.
She is going to be having a hysterectomy herself. However her's is more of an emergency hysterectomy. Last fall the Doctor found a mass on her uterus, why he didn't remove it then I have no idea. He felt he could shrink it by putting my sister into a chemically induced menopause. Fast forward to now. It didn't work. I will know more about the date and time of the surgery as my Mother is visiting my sister this weekend. To make this worse - last fall we were told a bit of false information - we had been told she had endometriosis growing back where she had previously had an ovary removed. Turns out that was when they found the mass on her uterus. My sister is in a lot of pain right now. I only hope the surgery is soon.

You got it, Amanda.
Glad to hear you're doing well after your surgery. I hope your sister has as good a recovery as you and that this surgery fixes her problem. I also hope the surgeon is not the same guy, 'cuz if it were me, I'd be finding a really good malpractice attorney.

My Sister suffers from the same problem I had when I lived back east - Flakey Doctors. If there is one thing I am thankful for, is that I have great doctors here in AZ who looked at my problems, agreed they weren't going to go away, and just decided to go with surgery and solve the problems. I have no idea if her surgeon is the same as her doctor but personally I'm a bit concerned. She lives in a fairly backwards area of NY state near the PA border, the area is part of the old rust belt, not a lot of jobs, a lot of folks down on their luck. It seems the Medical care in the area isn't great either. However this is where my sister decided to settle with her wife. Her wife teaches at a school just over the border in PA.
