Title: Picasso pendant

Had the need to create. The Picasso marble is an easy stone to work. If your not careful it gets small really fast. An easy shape that dictates to the pattern.

Very nice cut and composition. Most cut picasso stones are not memorable but that one is, nice.

Great cab!!!   U r correct, they become finger nails real quick! LOL.  What do u polish with? I use Zam.

Orrum,
Take picasso through 3,000, and 50,000 diamond, and then muslin buff with zam......mirror finish.  Same with zebra marble from Milford.

Hey thanx Robert!  I have several colors of Wenden Az msrble, not cabbed any yet. You ever try it?

yes I've cabbed the stuff, it doesn't take as high of a polish, but still looks good using the same technique.

I take it to 3000 on a diamond wheel and stop. I find that overly glossy finish distracting when looked at various angles. You see gloss, not the natural stone.

I tried using cerium oxide one with Picasso. The effect, somewhat interesting, was similar to the Japanese technique of Shou Sugi Ban or burned wood which after burning is wire brushed to accentuate the harder grain. It makes it stand proud because you have brushed away the softer grain.

Same happened with the Picasso. The Cerium oxide  "brushed" away the softer material leaving the veins to stand proud. I then went back to the 3000 wheel for a slight burnish of the veins. Was pretty cool.
