Made a trip to Green River, Utah for four days last week. I have my saws down for yearly maintenance so I thought I should go get more rocks to cut!
Picked up some nice sphere and cab material , travertine , Onyz, Jasper , Pet wood / yellow, red, black and blue, coprolite.
Even took some pictures of the area! Pic heavy!

Looks like great material, and a good location! Love the petroglyphs.
What is the material in your first post, with the round patterns?
-
It is Onyx, I found several large pieces with tubes running through them, I thought they would make great spheres.

Ditto on the petroglyphs; those are always a bonus on these outdoor treks.

nice stuff, i am assuming the petrified poop is the jelly filled center looking stuff?
OOH-tah sure has some beautiful stones to collect.

And the petroglyps, i love te little hats they put on the people lol! :LOLOL:
I would have had to burn some Sage in honor of the spiritual feeling there.

Looks like a great trip and a load of good material to work. I still haven't posted the trip through Green River yet, been busy but things just opened up. I love collecting that area, so diverse and prolific hunting to be had. I cut one of the Yellow Reds yesterday and it came out great. I really like the Yellow wood, I have only found one piece in my time there but it was a full round so that made up for it. Awesome trip you had!
