Was pleased with how this came out. I had a very thin piece of Pietersite that I thought had really beautiful color and form. I decided to make some doublets out of it, so I used 330 expoxy and bonded a piece of glass to it. I tried to get the stones about the same size and then set into individual cups for this bracelet. I made a matching ring as well. [ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

A beautiful set!

Nice work Greg. Very clean pieces and lovely depth. I have some man made optical quartz rod. I think it's about 2 inch diameter but would work perfect for small doublets. Want me to send you a section? It beats glass.

Stunning pieces!

Really gorgeous bracelet! I love the crystal depth the glass gives each piece. Using doublets enhances it, I think.

Thanks all, and thanks for the offer Steve on the quartz. I have some quartz as well and have used it for some higher end stuff like small opals, but for larger stuff like this I figured the glass was fine. It might be slightly more likely to scratch than quartz, and maybe a bit trickier to cut (having to be more careful about heat), but the quartz certainly is more pricey.
