Title: Petrified Wood?

Any suggestions? This comes from this area where we collect petrified Palm in utah. It's opalized as it will get hairline fractures if I get it to hot on wheel when making slabs. Someone told me it's pet wood

My guess would be pet wood.  Could just be a common opal nodule as well, but pet wood would be the better of the two guesses.
