somewhat sad - 2 months and 2 entries.

Yeah, kind of lame. I managed to cut 1 cab during those two months. Blizzard then flood then getting the farm going for the year.
Finally got back in the shop for a few hours this week.
Still game to go if there is enough interest... :dontknow:

I agree. Lame. I also didn't get one done. Between working like crazy and some family stuff, there was no time.
I'd like to know if the members of the forum still want to do the contest. I'm willing to continue with it, but if we're only going to get 2 entries for 2 months, it's not worth my time.

I for one enjoy the contest. Although if I win a month I never put and entry the following month but it would be great to see more participation. At one point I was thinking of giving my entry away to one of the other entry participants if there were 10 or more entries. I was trying to think of a way to encourage more people to show. I don't know if it would cause any friction by people thinking that one category would hold an advantage over another but if we can't get enough cabs maybe "lapidary of the month" and open it to spheres, carvings, beads, faceting and cabs. Please don't beat me if I missed another category that could also be included - just ideas, maybe even jewelry?.

I think with summer coming up there will be more entries, but maybe don’t close a contest period until you have five or more entries?

Ok, I'll put a new one up for May/June, since half of May is gone already. We'll see how it goes.

I’m guilty of not entering, I’ve been busy making spheres for other people, 14 in all the last 2 1/2 weeks I still have a dozen or so to go.

2 entries is sad. I think the idea of continuing the contest until there are at least 5 entries is a good thing. I thought my entry was good until Irockhounds sagenite was posted...and then nothing happened for almost 2 months. I wouldn't be troubled if it took 2 more months to get a few more entries before voting. Anyway, please don't feel the need to end the contest, I love to see what every one submits! And win or lose its always fun to share.
